LED lights have huge advantages, of which such as: durability, reliability and economy – the most suggestive. It is clear there are different types of these high-tech lamps and distinguish them even by such features as: lamp base, by application and by LED.
Types of LED lamp base
The base is a part of the bulb made of metal. If we talk about the products that are produced now, the most popular of all such bases: E27 and E14 – they are also called mignon. The numbers 27 and 14 are the diameter.
Connections to the base can also be different, for example, pin. They can be recognized by the letter “G” and the numbers that equal the distance between the pins.
Here are the most popular ones:
- G4 – is commonly referred to as a spot light
- GU10 – the letter U indicates that this type of backlighting is used for a single element in the room
- G13 and G5 – created for tubular lamps
Also, in some cases use a pin base GU5.3 or G5.3, as an alternative to halogen lamps.
Types of RGB lamps by application
Light can be used in different ways and for different purposes. In this regard, there are lanterns and spotlights, lamps and flashlights. In LED production so also use different lamps, they differ in such forms:
- Corn
- Flask
- Tubes
- Imitation of halogen lamps
Corn – the very name of these LED lamps went from their appearance. This form is quite popular, because due to the even distribution of light, shines very brightly.
Bulb – here is also the name came from the appearance of the lamp. This is the most practical kind of lamp because it is made with COB and SMD LEDs. In the case where the LED lamp is given matte, then the light is emitted evenly.
Tubes – in appearance the same as fluorescent tube lamps. Inside, the LEDs are placed along the entire length.
Types of lamps by LEDs
COB and SMD LEDs are considered the most common. There are other less used such as for example: Superflux or DIP, they do not quite fit modern requirements.
SMD – translates as surface mount device. Such lamps have a diffused light effect without any optical modifications. Inside, small LEDs are attached at certain gaps from each other. There is also a numbering that corresponds to the size of the LED. The most common ones are as follows: SMD3528 and SMD5050. Where 3528 is the size of 3.5×2.8 mm contains one LED and two leads. And SMD5050 – the size of which is 5×5 mm and has 3 LEDs and 6 pins.
COB – literally translates to chip on board. It is a technology by which, a certain number of LEDs are attached to the surface. It produces a very strong light emission. It is ideal for spotlights. So far, this type of LED bulbs is only gaining popularity
